NAPCAST VIII POSTED

Click on the playlist to go to the Podomatic site and the player.

If you have an easier time viewing the embedded player, go HERE.

Last weeks Name That Tune Challenge was “Verres Militares” (War Pigs) by Black Sabbath and performed by Rondellus. It was provided by SoH and first guessed by J. Cramer.

J. Cramer has provided us with the NTT on this Napcast.

Once again, the first person to email me with the correct song name and artist (at nap@podomatic.com or email me through my Blogger profile) will have the opportunity to provide the music for next week’s NTT challenge.

Thanks to everyone who submitted music.

Hope you like it.

Great great NAPcast! I know we’re supposed to be non-aligned but from the sound of this week’s cast, i’d say i feel pretty aligned right now with everyone’s choices. The Dirtbombs, the Shannon Wright, the Pelican, not a dud in the bunch. Even the shmaltzy Monica Mancini somehow sounded listenable between the Made Out of Babies and the Brotzmann. Were those Alice B Toklas brownies I had earlier? I wonder. You are getting really good at this EM, I hope the listening audience is increasing.

Glad you liked it Carlos. Thanks for the submissions. Your thoughtful attentiveness alone, makes it worth the effort.

I was relly busy with work all night, so I didn’t have the chance to do the play lits and lay out how I like… But oh well.

My spelling errors are a side effect of my ability to type 160 wpm.

FYI, the song I submitted this week features Ennio Morricone as one of the players. In case you are wondering. Oh and it’s Schema 3.

    Ramon,

    CRAP. I’ll fix that. Thanks.

    Did this podcast disappear?

  • Electramummy

When I edited the playlist, the episode went “hidden”. I have been trying to UNhide it. Normally, it takes a couple of minutes, but this time.. not so. I’ll keep working on it, and come post in here when its out of hiding.

    My apologies.

The podcast has come out from behind the tree. You know, in the Aleutians, they have this saying when people ask if there are ladies here. They say, “There’s one behind every tree.” Everyone has a chuckle, cause there ain’t no effin trees here.

I neglected to mention this before, btw, but great choices EM.

Does everyone know that Dirtbombs song is a Robyn Hitchcock cover?

  • Electramummy

    Thanks DD,

Glad you like the song choices. And thanks very much for the library of sound you sent my way.

I left out the fact that the Dirtbombs song was a cover, as I was short on time and …. LAZY in the typing department that day.

I’d like to include links to the artists, labels etc but I don’t have the time.

Also, if anyone is interested in giving the http://nap.podomatic.com page a web design make over, let me know. It’s pretty ugly in my opinion.

    As you were.

I did not know that DD but thanks for the info. Dig the Dirtbombs. My bandmates in THE LATEST are down with those guys. Been digging them for a while but did not have any idea they would cover Robyn Hitchcock.

    Also, nice podcast.

Anybody who covers something off Eye is okay in my book.

uh, just fyi, I get an error message when trying to listen to the napcast.

  • Electramummy

    Anon,

I would suggest going here. and playing the embedded player. I can’t be certain why you are having problems. The podcast was running fine for me this morning. If this is the first time you are attempting to listen to it by following the link on NAP, which takes you to podomatic.com… then it may be a media browser issue. I am almost certain you can listen to the show on the embedded player with little hassle. Hit play, maybe pause it for a couple seconds as it catches up, then play again. Let me know if this does or doesn’t help. One of these other guys may be able to help if you can tell us what media player you are using. Good luck, and hope you get to listen soon.
