PR nationalists were high targets of Cointelpro and continue to be the object of harrasment and surveillance by FBI operatives. One of the reasons Filiberto was able to evade the FBI for so long (besides their own ineptitude) was that, even though most people in PR dont want independence (they'd rather keep getting that free welfare check from uncle sam), they support the FBI's presence in the island even less. And since almost everyone has an FBI file anyways, not many care about lying to the FBI or hiding a fugitive for a few days. I heard Arlen Specter (Sen. Penn.) corner Robert Mueller (FBI Dir.)yesterday and practically get him to confess he was incompetent and to blame (for a number of other issues including domestic spying) in order to protect the role of the FBI. Does our FBI have jurisdiction over Puerto Rico? Were the Puerto Rican authorities refusing to extradite him? Our FBI looks more and more ridiculous everyday. I heard Arlen Specter (Sen.
