Week 33: The Ballad of Stayed and Gone 3

I continue to work on sketches and various attempts at music, while at the same time trying to come to terms with how much I like Burt Bacharach and Gerry Rafferty. Cause, what else am I to do?

Double Sunglasses Sunday*
This is an arranged version. Where's my captain's hat?

Double Sunglasses Sunday (solo)*
This is what I think of as an extremely moody/mannered version, kind of getting that extreme out of my system (shudders).

Double Sunglasses Monday*
And this is a variation on the musical theme.

*As before, these sketches will only remain posted for one week, but two of them might also appear on this week’s NAPcast. And again, sorry in advance for pushing this on the NAPcast, but I’d like to hear what they sound like sitting between other stuff.

Gerry Rafferty is the devil. Will listen to your stuff soon. Supra busy lately.

I love Marina in the arranged version. Don't like the affect on Diane's voice. And if I didn't know Diane, I'd say sing more natural but of course Diane is larger than life so she is being natural. I like you doing a bossa nova like back up vox but want the back up words to be snappier. Your nylon string guitar playing is great.

Both this and the solo version don't have enough momentum, especially the solo version. It's way too slow for me.

The last one is fun.
