thanks for the mission of burma submission, ms. rosa. that particular song by them is one of my all-time favorites. roger miller is a genius guitarist and the line "This is just a perpendicular line to the grain" remains one of the most pithy insights as to how we react to images in the media today. dude, the panasonic was fucking great too. you know dom delillo originally wanted to title his book 'white noise' as 'panasonic' but the japanese corporation wouldn't give permission? (read this in the new yorker somewhere). i never have any idea who the ntt is.
Previously I just thought of Stelly Dan as musical wallpaper but having not heard them in 10 years, I clearly forgot how truly unlistenable they were. Thank you Carlos for reminding me.
I am going to continue to stay out of the whole Steely Dan thing out of respect for my elders.
And Heidi, loved the Throbbing Gristle track on the podcast. Thanks for that.
I usually think the NTT is something that it is totally not and have stopped guessing, though if I did guess it would probably be comical to you all.
NTT Hint
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
or Chrisopher Marlowe (depending on you preference)

Why does no one listen to me??
Faust but that's all I got.
wow awesome heids. love the mission. saw em in austin in like 2004 or so and they blew me away. oh god. i just realized it could have been 2000 or 2001. i have no concept of time.
man, justin, i shoulda called ya. i wanted to see the shondells this past weekend in SUGAR LAND! true dat: 'crimson and clover' is my standard karaoke song at lesbian bars. knocks em dead everytime.
Boston's More Than a Feeling
ok, so it wasn't until I got to the throbbing gristle song that sounded an awful lot like spoon, and nothing like how allmusic.com described them, that I realized the latest episode I had was not the latest episode.
Scratch my Boston guess. Sorry.
Faust's It's a Rainy Day, Sunshine Girl.
Yusssss.
That is Correct!
Did you guys gag on half of this napcast like I did? Particularly the Steely Dan? And, dare I say, that Pink Floyd guy? Rush was actually good, as I listened, realized I'd never given them a chance because I didn't like their clothes, enjoyed it for a second, then became grossed out that I was listening to Rush.
It didn't help that I had to listen to Boston, and the like, before that. I was more than primed to puke.
This is the first napcast where I'm familiar with the majority of stuff on it so I haven't downloaded it yet. I do like to download the napcast and then listen to it while working on the house. This one looks like a good one for that. But, I've been on the move a lot this week too.
Tom Sawyer is on my list of possible Dance Band cover songs.
