As an FYI that shines some more light on the ‘spectacle’, the live performances in the suites were all taped the previous evening. My wife and I were in Vegas that night watching the show resting up before heading out for the night and laughed when they showed the exterior ‘live’ nights shots as the sun was still out. From inside the suites you could see it was dark out.

They had the red carpet mess and ceremony Sunday afternoon Vegas time inside the casino to ‘seamlessly’ create a new MTV reality. We were a bit disappointed as we were hoping to see some LA/Record Industry/Entourage types out that night but we were not near the Palms or Hard Rock where said types are known to congregate. Nothing beats people gawking on a big fight night in Vegas where all the criminal underground stereotypes from my childhood are on parade in their finest regalia.

kanye west makes me want to throw up, he looks like a chip munk, and when I hear the song gold digger, which you could not miss about two years ago i guess, i want to pinch his chip munk cheeks til he screams out in pain–i hate that song really bad!!!

ok, i watched her performance on youtube and i have to say i kind of liked it. well, i liked her dancing. i never really liked the super athleticism that has dominated most dancing since flashdance came out. Britneys dancing on that clip reminded me of the quaalude inspired dancing of the 70s, meeellloooowwww…. Its obvious she had the same inspiration. anyways, this is probably not going to bode well for taking dancing out of the gym, but it was kind of cool to watch her moving like she’s an extra on Saturday Night Fever, right in the middle of a bunch of fly girl dancers in the MTV awards setting.

i really think britney spears did that on purpose, to draw even more attn. to herself, and MTV wanted her to make an ass of herself, it was all planned, even all the other famous peoples’ reactions to her shitty performance. it was all really canned, so all in all, a great performance!

I didn't watch the awards. It just disgusts me. All the people winning awards for making music that they didn't make.
