Veramente, preferisco il podcast di questo Lunidi con Goblin invece de la ultima settimana. Bellissimo!
Sono felice voi lo gradisco, ma oggi sono martedì!
Did you know Argento's mother was Leni Riefenstahl?
I have to get out of the house, but someone else could maybe confirm or deny that she was his mother. It doesn't seem right to me, but I'm no genius.
Wikipedia says this "Argento was born in Rome, the son of film producer/executive Salvatore Argento and Brazilian-born photographer Elda Luxardo, who was known as the Italian Leni Riefenstahl"... but I am having my doubts about that.
The more that I think about it, its absurd.... but I have to get going.
E vero, oggie e' martedi. era un po' stanco.
Whoops yeah you may want to re-read that. Definitely his mother was not Leni Reifenstahl but a photographer who was compared to Reifenstahl.
I can't get over this crazy cast. This one, Roberto's and Doug's are all so tasty!
I swear there's a Marillion song in there, though.
I just read that sentence about his mother- the way it was supposed to be read, and feel incredibly retarded. But I really had myself going for a while though, and was amazed at the Argento/Riefenstahl connection. I could entertain myself all day long.
This is so badass we had to rent Suspiria tonight.
SUSPIRIA fucking rules. I spent more money on the import of the soundtrack for that than I have on any other single CD I can think of. I finally watched INFERNO, the followup, and it's a bit slow out of the gate but definitely has its moments. I also recommend TENEBRAE if you haven't seen it, more giallo than supernatural but the last twenty minutes or so is just sustained genius. And I said this as somebody who almost turned it off twenty minutes in.
I'm finally listening to this, and knowing only Goblin's more spooky stuff, I'm quite surprised by some of the content here. The track at 47:30 almost seems like it's channeling an Allman Brothers vibe or something, not that I know the Allman Brothers very well. That's not meant as a dig, either; just had no idea they were so versatile. A very cool panoramic portrait of a band. Thanks, Claire.
