It's a little known fact that Dirty Three were originally called Strike Three.

Another little known fact is that McLusky's album McLusky Do Dallas was so called, not in honor of the famous Debbie who did Dallas, but in honor of what they incorrectly though to be the home town for Huey Lewis and the News, since McLusky was hugely influenced by the Huey Lewis album Sports. The Fuck This Band song "Fuck This Band" actually started as a cover of "I Want A New Drug".

Flip Tucker

Yes, in fact, the Outfield were a huge influence on both McLusky and Dirty Three.

For reference:

The Outfield: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CgfSzuFD8rw

McLusky: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=061ruAa95YM

(Note the lyrical shout-out to "Your Love". All one rich tapestry.)

Fielding Melish

I'll have to give that a whirl. Please don't laugh at me guys, but I bought the new Asia album titled Pheonex last week and I have to admit it blew me off my feet. If anyone here is into prog rock, then by all means, give them a listen. It is all the original members from their debut release over 25 years ago. Now back to our regularily scheduled program.

Steven Chadwick Robinett
