Totally
Oh man. You know what would be weird, Nat? I mean, like totally crazy? We should make a video for this song. I know, totally, right? But, check it out--we should make it all Bollywood, 'cause that shit is weird. You know, how they always break out into song and they have those, like, cheesy special effects? Well we should make a video like that! That would be so weird! Dude, people will freak OUT! It would totally blow their little minds. Can you imagine the look on their faces when they see this? This is going to be so awesome.
Now, that you've suffered as much as I have, here's a salve.

is that natalie portman?
Yes.
but
oh, how i like playing at the role of the contrarian: i was at least amused by the devendra banhart video and never understood the hero-worshipping of rush. one of my very young yoga teachers dated devendra, and yeah, it's hard to understand, but apparently Natalie has too. pink triangle on the forehead was a nice touch- not exactly hindi now is it ;-)?

I just thought that the video of Rush being willing to make themselves look silly was refreshing.
You could say that Banhart is doing the same thing in his "Bollywood" video, but I don't think that was the idea. Instead, I think he was just trying to be as weird as possible. After all, he has to keep up that "New Weird America" image.
I wrote about this a few weeks ago in the comments to my post about lyrics. I don't think it's actually possible to be intentionally weird. If the thing you're creating has a clear origin, it's not very weird. Weird has to come from an un-self-conscious place, because if you can think of an origin for the thing you are creating, then anyone else can too--no matter how much cleverer you think you are than everybody else.
