DPRK BluesI find North Korea totally fascinating. Who knew they had a website, for instance? Check out their mp3 download section, with top hits from the North! Watch The Vice Guide to North Korea. I think you’ll find it fascinating. If you don’t have time for it all, episode 14 is pretty funny. The vice guy does a karaoke version of “Anarchy in the UK” for his extremely befuddled guides, who have little idea of rock and roughly zero conception/comprehension of punk rock. In reading the comments on the Vice site, I came across a link to a blog by a violinist for the New York Philharmonic, which paid an extremely rare visit to the DPRK earlier this year. You can read the intro and parts one, two, and three. I think you’ll find it fascinating reading. Beautiful big pictures make for fascinating viewing. And of course, it’s always fascinating to watch this video: 3 comments to DPRK Blues |

Those are some pretty cool links. Thanks.
That NYP blog was incredibly engrossing, er, I mean fascinating, fascinating. I damn near cried by part three. Thanks for posting.
If you haven’t, check out the documentaries A STATE OF MIND and CROSSING THE LINE. The former is about the mass games, and the latter is about an American soldier who defected to North Korea. I particularly liked the former, but both are amazing.
