My favorite release this year is still this Dodos record. http://www.emusic.com/album/Visiter-Visiter-MP3-Download/11173004.html
Also, I'm a big fan of Dwight Yoakam's Population: Me. http://www.emusic.com/album/Population-Me-Population-Me-MP3-Download/10806964.html
Department S
Humpy Bong
God Bless Tiny Tim (first album)
Rank and File
The Sugarman Three
The King Brothers (Japband)
Television Personalities (Any post 2003 except My Dark Places)
Still haven't heard Grinderman or his new one (but I hesitate to admit that)
Of course these I would want to steal from you, except Tiny Tim and that's for the Cunt
Seeing that this is an emergency - how fuckin long do I have to wait for the God of the Blog (or Golb) to answer the phone? A non (aptly put)
The Chiswick Story Part 1 comp on Ace/IODA.
v/a The Story of Chiswick Records on Ace. Totally boss.
oops. hiccup!
I have God Bless Tiny Tim. And I think you already stole Grinderman from me (if anon is who I think it is). Other stuff looks good. WTF is Humpy Bong? That some of that bengay fever you're in to?
Mrshl - I'm downloading that Yoakam. I've got a soft spot for that baldie on account of some adventures I had with your bassist. Just ask him about Reading Writing and Route 66. Don't know about those Dodo's, didn't really go for them in concert. I mean, I liked it as an emotional young effort. But it didn't speak to me.
Ms. Rosa - I don't know what that is but I'll check it out.
Btw, I didn't see most of these comments until like 11PM. I checked in earlier but they didn't show up. So here's what I got just clicking around...
1. Animal Collective - Strawberry Jam (love the song Derek already, very pretty).
2. Cornershop - Handcream for a Generation (yeah, real old but I never owned it and I like this crazy "indie" stuff! hehe)
3. Art Blakey - Night in Tunisia.
p.s. how do those whirling dirvish guys spin around like that for an hour? I'm sick just watching them.
The Goblin Collection 1975-1989!
