Although I had of course heard bits and pieces of it, before my freshman year at Rice I had never heard Martin Luther King’s famous “I Have a Dream” speech in its entirety. There wasn’t a dry eye in the class after my humanities professor played a cassette of it. If you’ve never heard it all the way through, I would urge you to take the time to do so today. Tomorrow, I join with the rest of the universe in celebrating the end of an error. It might however be useful to keep His Shrubness around in a box somewhere, so that we can be sure of the incorrect solution to every problem. I just hope Obama can keep all of these promises:
I’m hoping Republicans too will join in this celebration, as they did at their convention, and not stand in the way of change.
