Late Post

Well thank goodness Ghost put up something for St. Patrick’s Day as I completely missed posting yesterday.

I could go on about how I fell asleep putting my 3 year old to bed and because my husband also fell asleep, didn’t wake me up and therefore the night ended for me at 9pm.  Sigh.

Rather, I’ll talk about  how I wasn’t sure how I was feeling about St. Patrick’s Day after doing about 2 minutes research into it and finding out he was the guy who turned everybody into Christians there, and I guess got rid of the pagan people’s faiths.

I’m really into magic and sorcery and goofy clothes and for the longest time believed inanimate objects had feelings, but that was probably because of Disney.  But anyway, I always thought the Irish, or Celtic, had some interesting views over there different from regular ‘ol Christianity and here’s Patrick coming along and turning them into sames.

But then I heard about 2 more minutes about Patrick.  He was born English and was captured as a somewhat child and forced into slavery by the Irish, or in Ireland (not sure which), and he escaped eventually but then devoted his life to Ireland and was so into it, preferring to be buried there even,  and basically wanted to help them because he loved them.  He had actually renounced his religious faiths before any of this happened, so I find it interesting that not only did he want to help them, he went back to the faith.  None of that must have been easy.

So now I have a story I’d like to read more about.

And music from Ghost to read along with.
