With all the talk about torture in the news this week, I thought we should revisit some of torture’s greatest hits.
I can’t remember if I posted this before. You should watch it again if I have.
Here are some digitized 78s.
You can listen to the new Wilco album here and read Jay Bennett’s complaint against Jeff Tweedy here.

Of course the meatheads in Metallica are proud to have their music used as torture. No surprise there. I love how they say that their intention was for the music to sound intimidating and menacing. Hey James, we get it, you’re a tough guy. Go hug your therapist and your hot-rods and go away.
I suspect Bennett has more than one complaint against Tweedy.
As for the Steve Martin clip, I knew Martin was a strong player, but I wonder if he looks better being surrounded by superior pickers or worse. Probably both.
That Martin manages to hold his own among all those heavyweights is impressive. He’s one wild, crazy, and talented dude. I just wish he were still funny.
Ain’t that the truth.
