Merge Records is celebrating 20 years this weekend. An incredible accomplishment considering how hard it is to maintain an independent label afloat, much less make it thrive over the span of two decades.
The party here in Carrboro started on Wednesday and continues until Sunday. A lot of the bands who are or have been on the label are playing at one time or another and they’ll have all kinds of related movies and special events as well. Drive Like Jehu is not scheduled, but Merge promises many surprises…
