After returning from New York, I spent last week trying to follow up with the people I met at AdWeek and the Independent Film Conference and preparing for the three-hour seminar I gave last week How To Place Your Music in Film and Television. It was part of a lecture series on artist career development called Make Money, Make Music, organized by the music supervision company where I work.
There are a lot of notes I’d like to share from that seminar, but I have been tired and a little sick. I haven’t had enough time in front of the keyboard, or at least enough time to do something constructive, like not watch cat videos.
So this week I’ll just share a song that has been making its rounds in our office. The Phenomenal Handclap Band sounds like what Cibo Matto would have sounded like if they had recruited James Brown’s backing band. This is a 2009 release from Friendly Fire Recordings, the label that brought the world Asobi Seksu.
Artist: The Phenomenal Handclap Band

I would love to see both the cat videos and the seminar notes if/when you have the time to share. More importantly the seminar notes. But only slightly more importantly.
Definitely the cat videos for me. I mean, have you seen Maru?
I like the bands that play the dancing music.
maru is awesome! i keep trying to get my kitten to do things like that, but she is too wily.
seminar notes yet to come when things have settled a bit.
