		<description>I like this idea. Kind of like band practice, but instead of playing or writing music, you get together and listen/talk about a given record/song/artist.  meeting at a bar would make it a pretty perfect idea.   

I would immediately discount option 1, if you only meet when a particular subject strikes your fancy, you will end up with no meetings or if any meetings happen, they will certainly not be well attended.  I think planned meetings is the way to go, with or without assignments (maybe combine - 6 assignment meetings followed by 3 open meetings.  I generally think more structure is better at least until bonds are built between members, cause remember everyone is going to want to talk about the record they like.   maybe it could be called the Algonquin Turntable, hehe.</description>

Might be interesting to tie it to something else to take the weight off the subject matter a bit. Like maybe meet at a different brew house each month.</description>
