For this one, I asked our editors to submit songs we would play if we were DJs on a classic rock / AOR station. In particular, I was thinking about what kind of tracklist we would have generated if it was our job to program this compilation: http://lala.com/zJPTI
Houston Press writer Craig Hlavaty linked to this comp on his Twitter the other day, and while I’m not stoked about all the choices, I was pretty intrigued at the question: what would we offer as “essential” rock tracks? This podcast, our second of the year, is your answer. Tracklist:

man, i wish you guys were djs at our local classic rock station. yay for not a single Elton John or Boston.
No CCR? What’s up with that?
Actually CCR is usually my go-to example when complaining about the crappy choices “classic rock” radio stations typically make. Those guys have like at least four albums worth of perfectly amazing rock, every song a winner, and yet all you ever hear are the same three or four songs over and over again.
So yeah, if I were to contribute, I’d add in either “Born on the Bayou”, “Ramble Tamble”, or “Night Time is the Right Time”.
I almost submitted some CCR, but couldn’t make up my mind which one to send.
