I never thought I’d be a cool enough blogger to trump the blogosphere with a you-heard-it-first-here post, but it’s here and it’s now.
Here’s the first track released by Bumble Fly — a new band out of Austin, Tx.
Yes, you heard right, a band fronted by a first-grader. So bring on your Jackson Five, Von Trapp Family, Devo 2.0, Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players analogies. Get ‘em out of the way, because you did hear right –this girl knows how to write a song (even when challenged to create interesting phrases over an unchanging loop).
I anticipate more colorful garage pop from this one. It can only help that her parents are both talented players (Sad Like Crazy, the Gary). Kudos to them for encouraging the arts — although I know this girl, she doesn’t seem to need any encouragement!
Man, what’s with all the autotune? Why can’t people just let the real voice through?
