Here are a couple things that I enjoyed this week. First is Jason Moran, a Jazz Pianist (from Houston, no less) that I heard on Studio 360 (interview begins at around 15:00. Believe me, you’ll want to miss the Apples in Stereo bit before that) last weekend. He seems to be making the rounds on public radio recently.
Then there’s this, which I can’t really explain.
I do like those shirts they’re wearing. I wonder if I’d have to go all the way to South Africa to find one.
If you decide to go get some of those shirts, grab me a vuvuzela or two, okay?
Jason Moran is good. I saw his drummer Nasheet Waits in Austin last year with one of those old Scandinavian guys and it was one of the best things I saw all year.
Uh. . . that is, GERMAN saxophonist Peter Brotzmann.
